Today’s event holds additional significance, as we have had the honor of inviting monks to partake in a meal and to conduct merit-making rites. The concept of “merit” or “puñña” signifies the cleansing and refinement of one’s character, embodying virtues such as goodness, righteousness, happiness, and moral conduct in thought, speech, and action. It also represents the purity and clarity of one’s heart and mind.
